VASCULAR LESIONS
Laser Treatment for Vascular Lesions
Vascular lesions are caused by abnormally large or unusually high number of blood vessels just below the surface of the skin. They are visible through the skin and often cause skin redness. Examples of vascular lesions are:
Telangiectasia, spider web-like veins in the face
Couperose, fine veins in the face
Cherry angioma, slightly protruding red lesions
Spider angioma, slightly protruding red spider web-like lesions
Rosacea, red lesions in the face around the nose and cheeks that look like sunburn
Advantages of the Laser
Through the use of a laser we can achieve excellent and lasting results. Only a minimal discoloration or swelling may occure after the treatment. The treatment itself is easy and painless. It takes a few minutes and requires only a small amount of time of pre and post treatment.
What to expect during treatment
Depending on the area to be treated, the application takes place in a lying position. We use a small handpiece for the treatment. When a laser pulse is delivered, you will hear a short tone and feel a slight stinging at the treated area. Immediately after the treatment you will receive a soothing cream to calm the skin. After the treatment you should avoid direct sunlight for a few days. For vascular lesions, the result is visible mostly after 10 to 14 days, in pigmented lesions, it takes two to three weeks.
